HOSTAPHAN ® films are ideally suited as release and transport films in a variety of industrial applications thanks to their unique combination of mechanical strength, thermal and chemical resistance as well as their low adhesion to many polymeric materials. At the end of the processes the films will be removed from the finished articles and in many cases the films can be used several times. The surface structure of the films is transferred to the surface of the products. By use of matte or glossy HOSTAPHAN ® grades the product appearance can be varied from extremely matte to highly glossy.
The width of the films for these applications may vary from as small as a few centimetres up to 4200mm. The most important HOSTAPHAN ®- grades for release applications are briefly described below.
HOSTAPHAN ® GN 4600 has a mirror like surface and results in products having the highest possible gloss. HOSTAPHAN ® GN 4600 is available from 50 to 250 µm and widths up to 3900mm.
HOSTAPHAN ® RN results in products having glossy surfaces. It is available from 15 to 350µm and widths up to 4200mm, depending on film thickness.
HOSTAPHAN ® RNK results in glossy surfaces, too and is available up to 75µm and widths up to 2600mm.
HOSTAPHAN ® WDW is a glossy white film, available from 36 to 65µm and widths up to 3900mm.
HOSTAPHAN ® WN is a white film with smooth surfaces, too, available from 125 to 350µm and widths up to 3900mm depending on thickness. HOSTAPHAN ® WN is preferably used in veneer presses as carrier and interlayer film.
HOSTAPHAN ® MP, MK and SP are matte films with different low gloss and result matte, non reflective surfaces with HOSTAPHAN ® SP resulting in the lowest gloss of the finished articles. HOSTAPHAN ® MP and SP are available from 15 to 36µm and HOSTAPHAN ® MK up to 250µm at widths up to 4200mm depending on film thickness.
In addition to these films Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH supplies heat sealable films that remain on the surface of the products and protect them effectively against degradation by sun light and weather.
