HOSTAPHAN® HIGH GLOSS FILMS
for surface refinement

Important properties of our Hostaphan® high gloss films for lamination are:

  • Extremely high mechanical stability
  • Improved scratch resistance in comparison to conventional materials
  • High colour brilliance and smooth surface
  • Excellent printability
  • Improved chemical resistance
  • Higher thermal resistance
  • Good corrosion protection
  • No pores, the film builds a closed layer
  • High sterilization resistance
  • Low migration
    • Low iron intake of the filling
    • Minimal flavour absorption of the film

Furthermore our Hostaphan® high gloss films for lamination applications provide a positive contribution for our environment:

  • Halogen free material
  • Better thermal recycling (chlorine free)
  • Substitution of solvent based lacquers
  • No adoption of formaldehyde

Hostaphan® high gloss films are suitable for high gloss and decorative surfaces in the furniture industry or the metal refinement.

Our Hostaphan® high gloss films are biaxially oriented films made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) which are especially developed for lamination of different substrates to reach a high gloss surface. Typical applications for Hostaphan® high gloss films are metal lamination and plywood/pressboard lamination.

In both applications the printing is protected by the film when reverse printed film is applied.

Hostaphan® high gloss films are a high quality substitute for PVC film in many applications.

The following picture illustrates a possible laminate, where a printed film is applied to a substrate by using an adhesive:

Possible Hostaphan® types for the application of lamination are transparent, matte, white and heat sealable films.
