Our Environmental policy
Protection of the environment has become an important priority for our company over the
past years. The great interest of the public for environmental issues and the increasing
requirements on environmentally sound production processes demand serious efforts on our
part to protect the environment.
To ensure the continuous improvement of environmental protection at our site and in our
production, MFE has installed an environmental management system that fulfills the requirements
of ISO 14001.
The environmental management system provides a framework to support the individual employees'
clear understanding of their own responsibilities toward environmental protection and environmentally
responsible behavior.
- The final responsibility for environmental protection rests with the
management. They will ensure that concrete goals and procedures for environmental protection
are implemented in every level of the company.
- The MFE management motivates the employees to carry out their duties
in an environmentally conscious and responsible manner. Ongoing information and training
programs develop their knowledge and consciousness of environmental affairs.
- For continuous improvement, environmental goals and programs will be
set and revised regularly. The efforts to reach and success of attaining these goals
will be monitored.
- In keeping with the goals of the management system, the environmental
aspects are incorporated into product and process development from the very beginning.
- MFE strives to conserve natural resources and minimize environmental
impact by saving energy and material consumption.
- The production of wastes and residual materials, as well as solid,
liquid, gaseous and acoustic emissions is to be minimized by appropriate technical
and organizational measures. The environmental effect of current activities is to be
monitored regularly. Regulations and laws are seen to be a minimum standard and are
complied with fully.
- Through appropriate technical and organizational measures, we do everything
possible to prevent accidents and production disturbances. Emergency action plans exist
to minimize the environmental repercussions of any accidents that do occur.
- The environmental policies and track records of the suppliers of goods
and services to Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH are an integral part of our supplier
evaluation.
- Regular environmental audits monitor the implementation and effectiveness
of the environmental policy and protection efforts. If necessary, corrective actions
will be taken and their success monitored. In this way, the continuous improvement
of environmental protection will be achieved.
- Our advances in environmental protection will be assessed regularly
and documented in written form.
- We will make information available to our customers and the interested
public about environmental aspects of our products and packaging.
