PET absorbs water when it is stored or transported from resin production to film production. This water can have a negative impact on extrusion and film production. Therefore, the resin has to be dried directly before use. Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH utilizes different systems for drying film, i.e. hot dry air or vacuum.
