Our polyester films range in thickness from 1 to 350 microns and can be freely formed to fit a vast range of needs. Our films' toughness and ease of recycling have led to their being employed in a broad spectrum of applications in nations around the world. Every day new applications are being discovered, allowing us to project strong and continuing growth.

Started production of polyester film, under the brand name DIAFOIL®, in Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture as one of the business activities of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation.
1962
Mitsubishi Plastics Industries Limited took over this business activity.
1975
Established "DIAFOIL CO., LTD." as a joint venture of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation and Mitsubishi Plastics Industries Limited
1992
Established joint venture companies in Japan, Europe, and U.S. with Hoechst AG (German company) to build the production and sales organizations as a global enterprise. Newly established "Diafoil Hoechst Co., Ltd.", which managed Asia
1995
In Indonesia, Established "MC Pet Film Indonesia (Former called as P.T. Bakrie Daifoil) ", producing polyester film at Merak, Indonesia and serving in Asia.
1998
Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation purchased all the Hoechst's shares of the joint ventures in Japan, Europe, and the U.S. and established ";MITSUBISHI POLYESTER FILM CORPORATION". Established MITSUBISHI POLYESTER FILM GmbH in Germany and MITSUBISHI POLYESTER FILM, Inc., in he U.S..
2008
Mitsubishi Polyester Film Corp. became a part of Mitsubishi Plastics, Inc. under Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corp., aiming to form one of the strongest functional material suppliers in the world. Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH in Germany and Mitsubishi Polyester Film, Inc. in the U.S. became Mitsubishi Plastics companies.
