Public interest for environmental issues and the increasing requirements on environmentally sound production processes demand serious efforts on our part. That is why protecting the environment is among Mitsubishis core values.
Mitsubishi Polyester Film, Inc. employs a full-time environmental staff to ensure that all regulations are met or exceeded. In addition, Mitsubishi proactively protects the environment and exceeds government requirements in safety and air emissions.
No hazardous chemicals are used in significant quantities at Mitsubishi. Even so, the company constantly communicates with its employees to keep them informed about the chemicals that are used. In addition, all community emergency response organizations are aware of all of the chemicals Mitsubishi uses on site.
We recycle virtually all in-plant film off-cuts, edge trim, and scrap. We take it back to film by blending it with virgin resin. Plus, we consider taking back or reselling / recycling all unprocessed HOSTAPHAN® rolls.
Each year, Mitsubishi recycles about 130,000 pounds of office paper; 3,000 pounds of aluminum cans; and 30,000 pounds of wood pallets. Plus, more than 25% of its prime production is from recycled polyester.
